FAQs
Below are the most frequently asked questions by both our existing as well as potential clients. If you cannot find your question answered on this page, please get in touch with us through phone or email.
How Much Would My House Cleaning Cost?
Every house is different. Cleaning charges of every house is calculated on the basis of your house’s size, number of members living in it, number of pets (if any), number of washrooms and how frequently you want to hire our services, etc. We have a fixed method of calculating the estimate for every different project in a systematic way.
If you wish to find out what information is taken into account when calculating the estimate for your house cleaning, all you have to do is email us your basic personal data such as your zip code, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, number of pets etc., fill out the form provided on our online estimate page, or schedule an appointment with us.
Will I Have to Pay the Same Amount for Every Visit?
Generally, the charge of the first visit is higher than that of the following visits. After the first visit, we will keep your home neat and clean with our regular visits which are priced at a flat rate. However, you will be receiving estimates for both the first visit and the subsequent visits. After our first visit, we will tell you the charge for regular cleaning.
Is My Presence Needed When Marci Cleaning Visits My House?
It is up to you. You can give us your home keys and we will store is safely. Only our company owner and/or manager has access to those keys. The maids are handed those keys for your appointment before they leave our office on the day of your appointment and they MUST return those keys back to the management in the evening. The keys are returned to the safe to be stored until the next time you want us to visit again.
Is there A Guaranteed Day and Time for Cleaning My Home?
We at Marci Cleaning Services usually set a date for your appointment but do not schedule a time because our schedules are always changing. However, if you get in touch with us on the day of your cleaning appointment, we will gladly give you an approximate time of our visit. If you require a guarantee of the time of our visit, please call us or email us. We will do whatever we possibly can to come to a mutually agreeable situation.
What Do I Need to Do If I Want to Postpone the Cleaning?
You just need to call our office before the scheduled cleaning day. We need at least 48-hours notice to postpone your home cleaning. If you do not give us proper notice, we will be unable to reschedule your appointment and replace it with that of another client. This reduces the maid’s remuneration and we cannot retain a skilled workforce if the remunerations are not consistent. Hence, we seek your co-operation so that you can get the highest quality service.
Please make sure that you have fully understood our procedures for schedule amendments and cancellations. We even charge a certain cancellation fee if necessary. However, we want you to do the needful to avoid paying such fees.
What Happens If I Mistakenly Lock Your Team Out?
For locking our cleaners out on the day of your appointment, you are likely to be charged a lock-out fee. Please make sure you have fully understood our lock-out charges. We want to you to avoid paying these extra charges! Most clients give us a spare key or hide it on their premises on the day of our arrival.
How Do I Handle My Home Security/Alarm System on the Day of the Cleaning?
If you have such a system, please do the needful to allow us access to your house on the set day. Some of our clients create a guest code or temporary code for our service crew.
How Do I Handle My Pets While You Clean My Home?
Please provide us with information relating to your pet(s). The information will be essential for us. Pets are not prohibited from the areas that we clean but you are requested to keep them away so that we can do our job more efficiently. Our services are Pet-friendly.
Will My Valuables Be Safe With You?
If you own valuable items or heirlooms, you are requested to keep them away or tell us to not touch them. You can keep those things in a closed drawer or behind a closed door and we will know that you do not want us to clean that area.
How Do I Pay My Cleaning Charges?
You can make the payment through cash or check. Please note that the payment is due on the day of our arrival. If you will not be at home during the cleaning service, you can leave the payment on your kitchen counter.
How Can I Be Sure that I Can Trust You?
We take pride in attracting the best talents that we can find. Our payment standards are among the best in the industry – we combine hourly wages and bonuses to ensure that we can retain the most skilled maids. We carefully select our maids, train them thoroughly and supervise their work regularly so that you can put all your trust in us to take care of your home.
Should I Provide any House Cleaning Supplies or Equipment?
No. We bring our own cleaning equipment and supplies. You need not worry about them. But if you want us to use any particular cleaning product, please talk to our manager or company owner prior to your house cleaning so that we can instruct our team properly.
How Many People Will Come to Clean My House - One Person or a Crew of Maids?
We generally send a team of two people. However, depending on the size of your house and your preferences, we can send more people.
What is Mildew and How Should I Do Away With it?
Mildew refers to a parasitic fungi. It survives in areas full of warmth and moisture. It needs a food source to survive and reproduces rapidly through microscopic spores. The spores are ever-present in the air and they spread through air currents.
These spores stay dormant until they have the right temperature conditions and sufficient moisture in the air to grow. Typically, mildew grows inside bathrooms in areas like the bathtub’s crevices, cracks, corners, etc. along with areas like sinks, showers, toilets. The color of mildew can vary from pink-tinted orange to black.
Marci Cleaning Services will efficiently slow down the growth of mildew in your bathroom. Our cleaning staff would remove the food sources that this fungus uses to grow, such as hair, soap, skin, etc. However, the spores can grow again for as long as the areas have warmth and moisture. In order to prevent mildew’s growth, the areas need to be kept dry. Another way to prevent it is to treat the area with chemicals such as chlorine bleach.
A pungent smell is emitted by chlorine bleach, which can be reduced by diluting it with water. A very practical approach is to spray the affected areas mildly. Saturating the area is not required and neither is treating the areas that are uninfected. The bleach should be kept in contact with the surface for an hour minimum. Areas that would be touched later should be rinsed and this entire process needs to be repeated every 2 weeks to ensure the removal of mildew.
We believe the above information has been helpful for you to know why mildew is so important and so challenging. It can be controlled, however, with regular maintenance.
